TROUBLED WATERS

TROUBLED WATERS
Psalm 46: 1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”
The Scene: A great sailing ship going through troubled waters–a representation of God’s people who all go through difficult experiences.
Psalm 93:3-4 ” The seas have lifted up, O Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea–the Lord on high is mighty.”
Though the waters (life) be rough God will see us through tough times.
Psalm 107: 23 “Others went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.”
He provides the wind (the Holy Spirit) to fill our sails (lives) propelling us forward through the world’s dangers (giving us His wisdom) when we ask for it and obey Him.
Psalm 98:7 “Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy.”
Revelation 19:7 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.”

GIVE HIM PRAISE

GIVE HIM PRAISE

Isaiah 44:23 “Sing for joy, O heavens, for the Lord has done this; shout aloud, o earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the Lord has redeemed Jacob, he displays his glory in Israel.”

The Scene: Trees with branches pointed skyward, like arms raised to praise the Lord our God.

All creation will praise His name!

Isaiah 55:12 “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”

Psalm 96:11, 13 “Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. They will sing before the Lord, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his truth.”

God, our Almighty God, will get heaven and all His creation to give Him praise if the peoples of this earth will not.

OPEN WINDOWS

OPEN WINDOWS

Jeremiah 24:7 ” I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.”

The Scene: The hearts of God’s people and the open window of heaven: Jesus Christ is the One who opens the windows of heaven for all true believers.

Ezekiel 11:19-20 ” I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.”

Though the above Scriptures refer to the nation of Israel, as Christians we have been grafted into the vine, Jesus–He is the vine, we are His branches. John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

5-NEW HEART

HIS SUN/SON

HIS SUN-SON
HIS SUN-SON

Luke 1:78-79“Because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

The Scene: It was the break of a new day; the sun began to rise above the vast ocean.

Just like the sun rising in the east every day, the Lord our God, is faithful and sure.

Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

Know today that the perfect Son of God has risen; He shines brightly for all who choose to receive Him.

John 8:12 ” When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ “

“I wandered in the shades of night,
Till Jesus came to me,
And with the sunlight of His love
Bid all my darkness flee.

Sunlight, sunlight in my soul today,
Sunlight, sunlight all along the way;
Since the Savior found me, took away my sin,
I have had the sunlight of His love within.

Soon I shall see Him as He is,
The Light that came to me;
Behold the brightness of His face,
Throughout eternity.”

Sunlight, Sunlight in my soul today: song by Judson W.Deventer, 1897 (First and last verses and the refrain in the middle.)

OUR CREATOR

OUR CREATOR

Psalm 74:16-17 “The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.”

The Scene: An ethereal, minimalist picture– a visualization created by King David of Judah, that Father God is the creator of all and that He is greater than His creation.

Psalm 72:8 “He will rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.”

You, O God, are the great mystery to all those who know you not! However, those who know You believe that You are everything and You created the earth and everything in it. See Psalm 24:1.

Isaiah 45:18 ” ‘ For this is what the Lord says–‘he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it empty, but formed it to be inhabited– he says, ‘I am the Lord, and there is no other. ‘ “

GENTLE BREEZE

GENTLE BREEZE

Psalm 1:1, 3“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”

The Scene: Tree leaves gently blowing in the breeze– representing those people who have found righteousness in the Lord God: those who follow God’s commands and who try to live Godly lives as directed by the Holy Spirit. He touches their lives like the gentle breeze touching the leaves. The many colors symbolize peoples of many nations (multi-nationality).

Jeremiah 17:7-8 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

As children of God we are called to be like Him in gentleness & kindness; “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.” ( James 3:17-18)

CORNERSTONE II

CORNERSTONE II

1 Peter 2:6-8” For in Scripture it says: ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’ Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone, and, “A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.’ “

The Scene: 1)Building blocks showing the Jesus rock as the cornerstone: Jesus the Christ of Nazareth is the first stone (Alpha) to be set in the building’s foundation/ construction. This also represents the Church’s foundation. 2) The doorway arch shows the last stone (capstone-OMEGA) to be set in the top of the arch, which represents the completion of the Church. 3) Jesus is the doorway through which all must pass, if they are to come to eternal salvation.

John 14:6-7 “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.’ “

Matthew 7:7-8 ” Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”
